    Easton Front Coil Springs

I just called Eaton springs to order new front coil springs for the Vert Resto. My 327 has air. I noticed that Eaton has one spring for this application. The woman I spoke with didn't seem to care much when I questioned her. I asked for a tech support and she said they wouldn't know either. Has anyone ordered springs for a 68 327 vert with air. I didn't really check the ride height before tear Down. Hate to use the originals and have it low. Thanks, Jeff

Coil springs for 1968 small blocks with C-60 were different than for those without C-60. The C-60 springs have 10 coils whereas the non C-60 springs have 9 coils.

Jeff, my 63 I used the front springs from (Eaton) and have no problems, ride height is normal. and I have also used a set Moog coil springs on a 64 I had just finished a chassis resto. and the funny thing the looked the same as my 63. So it had me thinking that maybe they do not make there own springs??? in 63 they are wound 7 times which is almost the same as theres which is 6 winds. much easier to install than the 12 or 13 winds in the factory springs in 64. And the ride is very good with the use of either spring.

Just as point of reference, 1967 small block cars had the same front springs with and without AC. I think the added AC weight drops the front by about 1/2 inch on my car.

        FWIW.

Thank you ,Joe,Ed and Larry. I wonder in 67 the factory wanted a little more height so in 68 they added one more coil for A/C.

For the most part, C2 coil springs are different than C3 coil springs. The only exception is the F-41 springs which are the same for both C2 and C3.

Make sure not to install springs upside down. As well as fully seated in the spring pockets. Tight wound coils go up. Many non original springs have coils too tight. Originals (not worn out) have room to work full suspension. Also front and rear should set level as well as side to side.
