John - you did not address whether the screw would be pointed or blount tipped and with or without a cutting slot in the threads.

I will point out that all of the pics in this post and your own catalog show a washer head screw; they seem to fit OK. Any wrench or socket used to install the screw would have a larger diameter than the washer head. I guess a screwdriver might not.

Larry, Pointed end, etc. Would not make much difference as long as the head is correct. I think you got a replacement from me. They are identical on the head except for the logo.
I was wrong before. The head is a very small washer head.

Meanwhile if the screw you have right now is holding OK I wouldn't mess with it. The thread on the replacement is a tad courser than the4 original. Don't touch it as the next screw could end up being loose and then what do you do.

Purchased one from Richard Fortier a while back, had counter sunk head, diamond logo, 1/4 recessed, with small shoulder. Works perfect.

Drove the 64 over 5000 miles to three Regionals and the San Jose National, one dust storm and 40 lbs of bugs!

Dan...I looked at his Drive Line ad...shows a 63 clamp screw for $35....1/4 X 1/2 with 3/8 hex head with triangle logo. The 64 screw is 1/4 hex. Is your car a 63 or 64...I thought it was a 64,

By the way...did you buy a 326 water pump from Bill Mock last year....I traded mine in and called him to buy it back...I think he said I was a day late...that you bought it.

Hi Larry, mine is a 64 380 unit with 1/4 screw. Traded some 326 pumps towards a 175 pump for the 64. I can't use any 326s, so wasn't me.

Dan, You could not have a 1/4" OD screw with a '7380 clamp. Could you?

I double checked and the Fortier Driveline Ad facts above are correct; however, I suspect it is a misprint.

John, it's the 1/4 hex head, diamond logo with slight built in flange under the head, fits in the hole OK. Sorry for confusion?

Thanks my friend. I know this Dan. Problem arises is that I really can't spend so much time on one screw. Buried with work. And way behind for sure.
Yes the head is a 1/4". Take care. John D
