Re: NCRS "validation of tank sticker"
It means NCRS, an individual quite familiar with Corvette sales and production documents is of such authority that he can differentiate original documents from fraudulent documents that could be used document high-valued options.
Here's the NCRS definition of the service:
Document Validation Service NCRS will compare any of your GM documents to the GM records contained in the Shipping Report and if verification can be achieved, will establish the authenticity of your factory documents. Unfortunately, the shipping report does not contain the vehicle options. A letter containing the information you request will be mailed to your NCRS address on record. The cost for this service will be $100.00 USD. Pay by Credit Card or PayPal.
If you go to the menu above Services/Historic Document Services and enter some data fields, it will introduce you to the service and you'll get the idea.Tom Russo

Re: NCRS "validation of tank sticker"
Loren, It is my understanding that the Tank Sheet can be validated via a unique number that appears on it. This is the 6 digit "IDENT Number". I have also discovered that the Window Sticker also has this IDENT #.
The NCRS has the Shipping Data Reports. This IDENT# appears on those documents.
If the IDENT# on the Shipping Report is identical to the Tank Sheet IDENT#, then this match confirms that the Tank Sheet (or Window Sticker), and the information listed on it, is then validated.
The IDENT# is in the upper Left corner of Tank Sheets, and upper right of Window Stickers.
I still need to confirm all of this with the NCRS Document Validation Service, but this is what I've been told by many others knowledgeable of the process.

Re: NCRS "validation of tank sticker"
It was simple, I sent in a high quality scan of my tank sticker (as requested in the NCRS Document Validation Service), Roy looked at it, and sent me back a neat letter with a raised seal that states your car's VIN and says: "Subject to the general conditions listed on the reverse side, National Corvette Restorers Society, Inc., confirms the following documents (shows Order Copy (tank sheet)) "HAVE BEEN VALIDATED" and appear to be authentic, per information contained in the GM shipping data records....."
This has been going on for many years, and yes any reasonable person could interpret this as "an NCRS validated tank sticker".Big Tanks In the High Mountains of New Mexico- Top

I like the appear to be authentic waffle language. Compare this to the auctioneer's interpretation.Tom Russo

Re: NCRS "validation of tank sticker"
Appears to be data-base driven, but don't know for sure. And all the auction listing says is: "NCRS Validated Tank Sticker", which would be a true statement if the letter from NCRS is valid and there, as that IS what it says on the NCRS letter. It also claims an NCRS Top Flight Award, CCAS engine affirmation, and Bloomington certification, all easy enough to check.Big Tanks In the High Mountains of New Mexico- Top
