Got my Bloomington Gold Events/Registration Booklet in yesterday. Few thoughts
Got my Bloomington Gold Events/Registration Booklet in yesterday. Few thoughts
FWIW: Got the above booklet in. Looks like "GoldSchool" is long gone. I use to like going to those events. Also noticed that
the prices have "doubled" since I took my 68 Corvette to get certified a few short years ago. That's the way it is I guess.Larry

The Glitter of Gold ain't what it used to be!!!!! If you drive anything from C-4 to C-7 you aren't interested in taking home the Gold. Your only interested in a hat, a mat and a T-shirt!!!!!! It's called the "graying" effect. If you don't like that explanation you are probably one of them.

PS. Yeah, I know you have a C-1 or C-2 home in the garage too!

I really enjoyed GoldSchool classes over the years, then they went away and later came back as "How to Buy Schools". Now I guess that's gone too. Must not have been a moneymaker. Perhaps the demographic for the Schools and the demographic for the Certification and Auction didn't line up. I have not attended for several years, quit going because of the demise of the original Gold School. Over the years the swap meet had declined, but that appears to be common with the advent of the internet.

I have a great time at Bloomington. It's the one Corvette show my wife attends. We stay, with friends, at the Conrad downtown. Tom and Alisa Green, along with me and Anne, have a swap space that always seems packed with friends.
I judge 68/69 Certification and enjoy that one event that has a different judging format.
I'm an NCRS guy down to my core but, I also enjoy Bloomington Gold and have, since I started attending at the Mclean County Fairgrounds. I hope it lives long and prospers.

They had it last year, essentially all were for C5 or newer cars and free to attend.
The couple of classes I saw were well presented but very sparely attended.
They are still on the BG website, which is seldom up to date, but listed as last year's dates.

Thanks for the information about the prices....perhaps I should add that it was simply a request for information and comparison to the prices of the '80s and early '90s - I've been away too long, but am considering a return for a view of Indy and its environs...Good luck Jaime and best regards.
