    '63 inner fenders scratches

Working on my '57 frame off, but I wander over once in a while to my recently purchased SWC project which is next in line and look things over. The car has a no-hit body, other than a small rear repair from a backing up incident. I find it curious, though, that the tops of the inner fenders have some significant scratch marks which look like they were caused by a grinder or some other machine. Some of the marks are UNDER the wiring and even the harness straps. Is this the result of a process at the factory which is common to find? I don't recall seeing this on my other midyears over the years, or at least it wasn't noticeable.Mine is a fairly early car, #1318.

i don't doubt for a minute that" Bubba of St Louis" did the dirty deed. most unintentional factory grind marks on c-2's occur further up the inner skirts but anything is possible with a grinder in hand. mike
