    63 license plate area

I have a front license plate bracket with the large holes for they nylon inserts for the screws.....apparently (per the JG) I need the bracket with the small 5/16" insert holes - does this sound right ?

The rear plate also uses the bigger square inserts and those are holes in the fiberglass....should these holes also be closed up to accept the smaller "round" license plate screw inserts ?

Ok then (and thanks) -- the small diameter license plate screws I was sent won't fit into those square inserts on the rear (way too small).
Sooooo - do I have the wrong plastic inserts in the rear ?

        Frank,

The correct plastic inserts are available at Long Island Corvette Supply. It's hard to know without a picture but the cost for the correct ones is very economical including shipping.

You guys are a huge help. Let me hijack my own thread and ask one more question....on a 250hp 63 base motor is this PCV extension (in red circle) factory ? Or something a previous owner added ? The JG doesn't really address it and the AIM is indistinct (ignore the PCV valve, I've got the correct one -- black -- to install)

            Frank,

That would be called a dealer installed option. Er maybe owner!

Since one of mine is a 250hp engine, I believe that was added, 86 the extension.

Harry ,Does the extra fitting Frank has installed there just thread into carburetor? my 340HP car has a threaded extension, then the adapter. Not sure on the WCFB.

                  Re: 63 license plate area

While you were posting I looked on the LICS site...now it really gets confusing.
My base motor had the incorrect AFB carb on it when I got it and Noland's C2 Ref Guide shows the extension going into an AFB carb in one picture.
Previous owner had the extension going to the PCV and not the also incorrect AFB.

Another pic (very fuzzy) in Noland's book shows the WCFB and it appears there is no extension anywhere.
                  Guess I'll pull it out.

Frank, Is it possible the rear tail light panel has been replaced at some point in it's life. I always thought the rear panel used the small round plastic parts.

I have history of all repairs done to the car back to 1975 and there is no record of any body damage/mods, but who knows....
I tell you what; the rear WILL use the round screw anchors before the NCRS regional (* SMILE *)

Frank, may I ask, from which vendor did you purchase the small anchors?

For some reason they sell 63-64 front anchors and 63-64 rear plastic anchors as separate items with different

                            Frank,

Make sure you also use the 1963 license plate attaching screws.

I did, but for now I've got bigger problems to deal with -- the tail light panel is original but Bubba was at work (* UGH ! *)
