C3 Convertible Top Frame Bumper - Finish?

Hi guys. I have my convertible top deck lid off this winter, re-working the paint to heal the classic weather strip marks that seem to be a chronic problem with these cars. While I have it apart, I want to work on the hardware details. Regarding the frame bumper bracket, I've talked to original owners and seen original cars that seem to have the bracket (reference file photo below) finished in black oxide (or phosphate?) and some that appear to be painted semi flat black. I've seen some painted body color too, I but think these may be from a re-spray.

Can some owners of known original convertibles share what finish their brackets are? I appreciate the help.

The brackets on my original owner 1969 convertible are dip-painted semi-gloss black.

17000 mile 74. This one is semi gloss black paint.

The part is semi-gloss black on my 73.

Thanks so much guys. Since the replies have brackets PAINTED black before and after my (1972) model year, I'm now certain that the TFP finish is black semi gloss paint.
