    C2 underhood blackout

This is for my 66 restoration. From reading the TIM&JG most of the stuff on the firewall is mentioned as having blackout coverage.

What about the Steering Column Jacket/Bracket and the Parking Brake Cable Bracket? These mount to the firewall. Where they already mounted when the blackout was done and should have coverage?

    Thanks,
    Don

        Wayne,
It looks like AO Smith white glass 64 or 65 because of paint prior to hood latch install. Was the black paint removed while some of the parts were still attached? One can see black prior to their assembly. Was the "L" shaped reinforcement adjacent to the firewall connector opening blacked out? It does show evidence of black.

I believe you'll find the items you mentioned were not in place when 'blackout' was performed. Should your car be a A.O.Smith built car, hood latches received no blackout.

It is an AOS that was exposed for a long time to sun. Those lower areas where the black out was light are mostly bare, but if you look closely you can see the black residue.

My 66 is an AO Smith car. I was aware of the differences between St Louis and AO Smith regarding the hood latches, but had forgotten. Glad you remineded me.

                  Thanks to all.
