    C2 speaker cable

On a 1964 Vette the wire from the radio that goes to the speaker has a clip that is part of the female plastic socket that connects to the wire from the speaker.

What should the metal clip be secured to? Is there anything in particular it should be clipped to in order to prevent movement of the speaker wire or can it go on anything convenient as long as it does not interfere with heater cables?

    Thanks for your assistance.

Disregard - I came up with a good solution. The clamp is small, it won't go on to a thick piece of anything. It will slide over a 16 gauge wire though. So, I hooked it on to the ground wire that is part of the radio power line assembly. It can't be seen with the side trim panels on, it is easily accessible if it needs to be disconnected and won't move around and get into trouble on its own.
