Time-Lapse Video of the 1-Millionth Corvette Restoration
Re: Time-Lapse Video of the 1-Millionth Corvette Restoration
Terry,
According to a recent article in "Vette Magazine" and from what I witnessed in person and read while visiting the museum a couple months ago, other than the Millionth , the 2009 ZR1 prototype known as the Blue Devil was the least damaged and Chevrolet had it back to its pre- sinkhole condition last fall. The 62's resto will be ongoing and is being overseen by the NCM. Currently , as of my mid September visit it is still in its sinkhole state up on a lift, as Dan mentions below. Sadly the other five cars were damaged beyond repair and will remain part of the NCM "sinkhole display". There are pictures of the cars posted here on the forum from me and other ncrs members .

The answer is no. They are all on permanent display at the museum, in the exact same condition that they came out of the hole. All covered with mud, dirt and rock. Most of them are destroyed so badly they can never be repaired. I posted a thread on this 2 or 3 weeks ago.

Jimmy, when I was there in mid October the 62 was up on a 4 post lift and in its sink hole condition. If the museum is going to repair it I was not aware of that. You are correct, the other 5 are destroyed beyond repair.
