63 Coupe Power Window Circuit Breaker Mounting

A friend is restoring a 63 power window coupe. He called to ask my assistance, but I can be of no help to him.

There is a separate circuit breaker for the power windows, which is supposedly mounted in the vicinity of the headlight motor breaker, which is mounted behind and above the kick panel.

The AIM says to put the mounting bracket in the "hole" beneath the headlight breaker, but there is no hole there. This is an early coupe... built in Sept/Oct of 62.

Thoughts? I have attached a pic that I took of my 63 roadster. You can see the breaker for the headlight motor. This is the area where the other breaker is supposed to mount. He has pictures of the car as he disassembled it, but has no reference pics of the power window breaker. Any thoughts? TIA.

    Chuck,

Just checked a 63 Red Roadster also and it had no square hole for the PW circuit breaker bracket. S/N 15,XXX

      Thanks, JR.

My car is a 19500 ish VIN. The coupe in question is a XX600 VIN.

It had an original PW harness in it, so there is no doubt it was an original PW car. It also had all of the other correct bits and pieces.

Chuck, I just looked, can't see a thing. All the A/C ductwork is in the way.

Well, rip it all out. What kind of buddy are you?

I wonder if the PW breaker was not mounted, and was just wrapped with electrical tape.

Here are 2 pics from my buddy's car. You can see one breaker mounted where it's supposed to mount. You can see the other breaker "hanging" to the LT of the other.
