    Authentic Protecto plate

Any ideas on the added value an authentic/ original protecto plate would bring to an 1967 L71 which already has an original verified engine. I asked this question because I was fortunate enough to recently acquire the original protecto plate. Thanks for your thoughts and ideas 😀

    Ed,
Parev (for those who don't know that's Armenian for hello). Not sure what you mean by "verified engine". That could mean a lot of things to a lot of different people. I am not sure the POP in and of itself adds cash value, but it's further legitimizes a highly sought after car as being what it purports to be - a 435 car. How the heck did you "recently acquire" the original POP? Former owner? Original owner? Would love to know. Are you sure the POP is authentic? Very cool that after all these years the POP is back with the car it was born with...Very cool....ARA

Anytime '67, L71, 435 HP are mentioned as being documented or acquired documentation with regards to added value (as in dollars) it draws attention as in resale. I think a better question would be as to the desirable collectibility.

I had a previous owner's son (owner had died) of my '67 L71 who found a window sticker (that looked legit in pictures, aging etc.) for my car. He offered it to me at a high price, I said if it passed NCRS document verification I would pay it, if not I would pay what a AAA reproduction costs. He said OK, it did not pass, but I am glad NCRS has that service, saved me some money.

OK, Ed, now that we're all salivating, waiting the hear where such an original piece could possibly be dug up, please don't go to PM and leave us hanging..

I will tell you what I told the gentleman That was selling my future Fuel car for the widow friend of his. After the deal he said he wasn't sure if he could find it. I told him it was worth 10k. He found it in about 5 minutes. All original car that just scored a 97+ at Denver national. Original pop that I had pictures of from 10 years prior. 10k extreme? Maybe, but I wanted that pop!
