I am looking for some advice on a power window motor replacement for a 1974 coupe. I have read that there is a bolt that must be inserted in the regulator prior to removing the old motor. Is this necessary? Some of what I have read does mot mention it at all.
I do not want to cause any damage. Thanks fro the feedback.
When you remove the power window motor the spring causes the scissor action to shut down on anything holding the regulator. Most likely it will be your hand that is closed in the scissor action of the regulator. Since the regulator arms are stamped steel with the edges not trimmed you will have a tattoo and maybe some stitches on your little pinkie!
My scar involved the index finger of my left hand!!!!!!! Yes, use a bolt and save yourself some blood!
