'53 tail light and bumper material

Got an email from an Italian transportation design student asking what material was used for the 1953 Corvette tail light and rear bumper.

I would only be guessing if I were to answer, so I thought I'd ask the technical discussion forum.

the bumper in the center is chromed steel
the tail light is red plastic and the housing is chromed steel.
This help ?

The shiny rim is stainless not chrome. I have filed, sanded and buffed out scratches on the rims.
