67 435 convertible at Barrett Jackson

Can you believe a black/red 435 with a Repro Trim Tag sold for $170K plus a buyers fee last night. I hope this brings the price up on original cars..........time to change my little small block over to a big block car.

I was absolutely shocked by that but at least they were honest about it.

It seemed ALL the numbers on all the cars were through the roof last night. 200K for a circus car made from a Model T with a cage on the back for a lion? Really? 200K! What the hell is going on in this world.????? I wish I had that kind of money to waste on a sh*tbox like that.....LOL.....

Boy that looked like a nice car. I had the TV on mute when it went across the block as I was feeding my daughter, but that looked nice. That was good money on a ChevyII IMO....ARA

Ara, you have to remember that these cars are from the Ron Pratte collection, a once in a lifetime opportunity. I wonder how many more times we will hear that this weekend LOL.

I agree. SSDD as I remember when Reggie Jackson sold some of his cars they were saying he only bought the best of the best when most were NOT. Auctioneers jobs are to be snake oil salesmen/tent preachers.

This one has been around before, 19682 had 2 tank stickers. I couldn't find the post in this forum but Doc Rebuild has a photo of the 2.

It's also been discussed in the corvette forum.

The incredibly high prices on Pratt's collection of made-up cars and restomods are ridiculous. A faked R code '64 Galaxie went for higher than a newly restored real one, have no idea what people are thinking, but original and real are not important to that money.

I enjoyed the telecast, it seemed like they were showing more cars and less BS which is always a good thing. Hopefully that will continue.

I agree Steve....Does Pratt still have the last 67 or did he sell it to Rick? Even a car auction with 1000 commercials beats anything else that's on TV these days.....Steve, safe travels - looking forward to seeing you in Lakeland. Regards

The last 67 is owned by Rick Hendrick. Looking forward to Lakeland, hope we get good weather.

Completely agree that $170K for a car with a repro Trim tag is ridiculous. I also agree that it was good that it was presented that way. However, I wonder what it would have brought if it was also stated that NCRS would brand this car counterfeit/fraud, since they love to refer to NCRS as the standard.

Yes, one of his former cars is going through on Saturday, black 435.
