Re: C2 Heater
Patrick,
past issues of the Restorer had some very helpful articles on removing and replacing the core. Restore a 40 or 50 year old brass part? The best I can remember was an article where the author took his original ends caps off of the leaky, rotten core and soldered the original caps to a new core. Trust me, you only want to do this nice. I wound up with a new core, but this was 15+ years ago- Top

Re: C2 Heater
Thanks Harry, that's a good article with lots of pictures. Fortunately, the fiberglass is perfect on mine and I was hoping to put the foam rubber on the doors without removing the riveted panel. Do you think this is possible with the door where the foam rubber looks stapled on? Did the clamping pieces fit the replacement heater core without modification?- Top

Re: C2 Heater
The foam I received was a solid piece. I needed to put the slice in the foam to fit over the metal door then I had to locate the existing holes in the metal door and insert the staples. I'm not sure how you would do this with the box not being disassembled.
Yes the clamping pieces will fit without modification.
