Trying to track down a 5480346 Master cylinder

Looking for a 5480346 original master cylinder for a 1970 coupe I recently purchased. If any of you has or knows of where I can track one down, I'd appreciate it very much. The car has PB , so I believe I need the "PG" stamped MC.

BTW---I'm looking at my 70 judging manual NOW, Pg 75 P,3 Line 2, reads, "for 70,71 & 72 cars with power brakes produced in calendar year 71 , the flat should read "PG"--But my car is a 70 built in July of 70 NOT 71----So is the MC STILL supposed to be stamped PG---???

    Thanks in advance

I don't think that your 1970 is a 1972 car produced in calendar year 1971.
If it is you have quite the rare car.

FYI there is a very good master cylinder reproduction currently made. I would not hesitate to use one if that appeals to you. I installed one in a 1972 last year that got a Bloomington Gold and the MC received no deductions.

Thanks Pat I'll check that out. I hope I'm not going nuts but I looked & read it again---Check out Pg 75 when you have a minute. The bottom line to my question is , should the master with PB on a 70 be stamped PG ?

And if you come across a 1970 produced in 72 with a calendar year 71 tag---BUY IT FAST---LOL

I don't doubt it says that - there are several other ambiguous sentences in the manual we need to clean up.

        PG is correct.

It's all good----Pretty sure I read it right--BTW, the Masters on that link you sent look excellent. I checked the manual again regarding a date and I see no mention so I'll order one without.

I have no dates on my 67 MC. Just the DC stamp.

          Thanks again Pat

They will add the correct date for, I believe, $50.
Date is on the forward port of the side.

If you try to find a master cylinder with casting number of 5480346 you'll be looking for a lifetime and you'll never find one. The number is 5460346 no matter what anyone says. No part numbers (casting numbers are the part number for a casting) of series 548xxxx were ever released or, even, assigned.

Yes, the third digit might appear to be an "8" but it's not, regardless of what some references and folks might say.
