    Re: Antique Vette Insurance Question

Don, I have had an American Collectors policy on my various corvettes for over 20 years & did have a claim 5 or 6 years ago. They were very good & in the end I was completely satisfied. ( also rates did NOT go up as a consequence) Barry Holmes

I would recommend sticking with a specialty company for your collector cars! they all do a good job! I choose to use Hagerty for 4 of my cars (that have sentimental valve that I can't put a price on, I have owned them all for a very, very long time) my other cars are with another un-named specialty Company.
      66 427 Vert Original car 100k
      69 Camaro 396/375 original car 75k
80 Vette original car was a daily driver 12K
68 Mercury Cougar complete restoration 20k
My yearly premium with 125 miles of flatbed towing for all 4cars is $1,175.00

So I will stay with Hagerty

I've tried to make sense of my 'stated value' policy and as far as I can tell this is what they are saying:

'Your premium is based on what you say your car is worth. We pay claims based on what we say the car is worth.'

That is correct. "Stated Value" has nothing to do with what they will pay you, only what you pay them.
