    65 C2 restoration....wiring harness replacement

Can anyone recommend a company that makes great quality replacement wiring harnesses for a 65 C2? Looks like I'll be replacing that too with my restoration project. Thanks

I have used Lectric wiring harnesses on 3 restorations so far, including my '65 with no problems. Only problems I have had has been with their ignition wiring.

X2 I replaced every harness in my 65. I bought LL and sent them back because they were not the same as my original wiring. I bought M&H and they were a perfect match. M&H is all I will ever use.

I'll vote for M & H also! Way too many horror stories with Lectric Limited!

I do strongly suggest one rings out any reproduction harness with a volt/ohm meter per the GM wiring diagram prior to installation in one's car. Do not just blindly plug it in....... It only takes one wire plugged in the wrong connector position to smoke a harness. Or even worse smoke an entire Corvette.

I have complained with no result about the socket issue with LL. It it is most disheartening to install the thing and then have to reach up there to hook up something else and knock off several bulb sockets. A real pisser.

The MH is better. The sockets are better and do stay put. The ignition plug was wrong but works functionally.

Thank you all. I appreciate the expert input. With this I can make an informed decision and hopefully be pleased with the product. Also great point about checking to make sure the wires match at the plug connections! I worked as a mechanic at Ford in the early 70s, had that issue in a Ford Maverick from the factory..16 hours later, I figured it out....Thanks Tim

I don't know if design changes have taken place recently at Lectric Limited but I installed all new harnesses in the '67 this past spring and had absolutely zero issues. The sockets on the instrument cluster fit nice and snug and everything else seemed to work as advertised. Ten months and 2000 miles later and no negatives. Surely I'm not just lucky. I understand that M&H makes a very nice product, as well.
