1967 Corvette L89 Convertible Warranty Book Protecto Plate Trim Tag GM orig. on E-Bay
Re: 1967 Corvette L89 Convertible Warranty Book Protecto Plate Trim Tag GM orig. on E
Since there were only 16 L89 1967 Corvettes made, the owners of all these cars should be known today. There should not be a problem to find the car's owner.
The only problem I see is if this car is NOT on this list.
Larry
EDIT: A Google check indicates that this car was sold at auction in 2012 as a completely burned out wreck. For about $10 you can get the auction results and the buyer. I declined. We will have to see if it becomes a "fully restored" Bloomington or NCRS car in the future. Most likely it will.

Right, and with a newly restored POP in the Warranty Book.

That brings up an interesting question about Corvettes. In the original Shelby Cobra and Shelby Mustang world, most people will not touch a re-body one with a ten foot barge pole. They, when found out, usually have very little value compared to one that hasn't been re-bodied. A burned to the ground, very rare, yellow 1968 GT500KR convertible rebody has been on the market for many years at price an original one would sell for, and nobody wants it, for instance. But, it seems a similar L88 or L89 '67 Corvette would not have the same stigma?

Rebodied collectible corvettes are part of the reality of the marketplace today. The rebodied 67 L-88 recently changed hands. I suspect is wasn't for anything like the $3.2 mil that the other 67 L-88 went for. But it did have a market value, even as a known rebodied car.
