C2 Rear fenders

I have a buddy restoring a '63 coupe. The body is all original glass in excellent condition except the inside rear fender "lips" have been cut away for big tire clearance. It seems a shame to cut up that original glass just to piece in after-market sections containing these lips.... Looks like one could use some resin & glass to form new lips without touching the outer fender.... Anyone done this with success?? How?? THANKS

Yes you can make lips .It takes time . You can make your own mold off the car and get it close to the correct shape then bond it on and finish it off OR buy a repair section from Sermersheims (812 424 4701) and use just the part you need and finish it off on the inside and outside . If you are careful you might only need to paint the lip area or do a blend .

Done it with great success. Just be sure to taper all adjoining edges and feather or blend into the panel on both sides.
