    C3 Rear window removable

Anyone know why Chevrolet stopped making the rear glass on the C3 removable?

The amount of exhaust gasses that enter the passenger compartment in stop & go driving with the rear window removed is dangerous. It is also less expensive to build having fixed glass.

And with fewer leaks into the rear compartment.

      Don't ask how I know.

          Hi Walter,
The part of the rear deck immediately below the rear widow window was configured as a 'trough'.
I guess the concept was to gather the water that the seal leaked and divert it through the 'trough' to the right side where there was a drain hole that led to the astro vent plenum and it's drain hose.
In my car the design seemed more intent in diverting that water so it ended up in the jack compartment.
          Regards,
          Alan

Thanks for the pics. I am always intrigued with the unique features of the early Corvettes.
