    No, metal to metal.

Harry thanks for your reply, but I talked to booster Dewy and he said no gasket is needed between the master cylinder and the booster, Thanks again.

        Bob,
Did you misunderstand Harry. He is saying, "metal to metal". Which means, "no gasket". The issue is finding a gasket at the firewall for that allocation.

There are quite a few that will work, but a correct one is almost impossible.

            Re: 1963 p0wer brake question

            Bob,
What I am saying is the brackets on the back of the booster can, hold the booster away from the firewall. This leaves an opening where heat can come in from the engine compartment. Finding an original 63 style seal/gasket is almost impossible. But, there are many other applications that will work just fine.

If I am not mistaken, the 64-67 seal will do the job. A lot of people forget that seal until they go to install the booster. Better to have it in hand before starting the project.

That is all I was trying to say. I too have a 63 booster sitting in my garage that needs to go on my car. Just have not gotten around to it.

I sent one out to plating. It took a while and they lost a small part. Because of those delays I took another 63 booster I had on the shelf and popped it apart, bead blasted it, painted it, and put it back together. I put it on the car and it looks great.

I know it is painted and not correct. I just need to put the plated one back together and get it on the car. There is nothing to them. As far as taking them apart and putting them together. Especially if you remove the spring first. You can spin it out if you take the front cup out first. That way you are not fighting the spring loaded can when you are taking it apart or putting it back together.

Best of luck. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

            Monte
