I'm getting ready to paint my Bezel, and noticed that the volume and tuning lettering looked like a dull chrome finish. Here's a close up shot of the Volume letters. The surface looks rough and pitted. Has this occurred over the years, or did it look like this when new. I'm concerned if the paint will notscrape off completely after it is painted. thanks
Hi Roger,
I've restored a few original bezels for people and find the surface of the raised letters not to be smooth and thus not accept the chrome plating in the same way as the the other raised edges on the bezel.
The one in your picture looks QUITE nice to my eye.
Regards,
Alan
