I have a Roman red '62 C1 in need of interior restoration. The dash panel is body color, red, but the seats, door panels, and carpets are black. My question is this an original combination? Is there a way to determine the correct interior color for the car? Thanks, Ted #60272

Not original. Either all red, all black, or all fawn. Check original dash paint, original steering wheel color, steering column, center panel that houses radio, clock, heater controls, and other areas. Steve- Top

Re: Interior color of '62 C1
I replaced the dash pad in my red with black interior 62 in the mid to late 1970s and I believe the only color I could get at the time was red. I elected to leave it red rather than dye it. I thought it looked cool at the time since the shape of the pad and the folding lid curved in the same way surrounding the dash and the seats. As was suggested, look carefully before making a decision to change out the interior as someone may have just have changed the pad as I did. Wayne- Top

Re: Interior color of '62 C1
Thanks Wayne, I actually thought of that. I guess my big concern in the context of what NCRS is about is how to determine what color the original interior was?? All of the components are worn now and would benefit from replacement, and I know it wasn't two toned as it is now (really doesn't look bad though), so I have to make a determination or a decision.- Top
