    1966 Holley Carb Numbers

My 1966 Coupe w/L-79 engine has a Holley carb with numbers on the air horn 3884505-DA, 3367, 3546
The word "list" is not there.
The Engine is from a 1968 L-79 and I donot know if this carb was on the engine or was the original.
Any help decoding this would be helpful.
    Thanks,
    Paul

    I believe the date 3546 is December 20, 1976.
    Holley carb dating:
Pre 1972 three digits as follows - first digit is the year e.g. 5 for 1965 or 6 for 1966. Second digit is month 1 thru 9 for Jan - Sept, and then O for Oct., A for Nov, B for DEC. Third digit week of Month 1 thru 5. So a code of 653 would be May, 1966, third week.

After 72 it was Julian dating. Four Digits (first 3 numbers are day of the year, last number is year, e.g. 1 is 1971). So in your carburetor, the 354 is 354th day or December 20th and the 6 would be 1976. That's the way I understand it.

      Paul -

That's a Service replacement 3367 carburetor (correct for your car except for the date) made in December of 1976 (or '86); 1968 L-79's used Rochester Quadra-Jet carburetors, not Holleys, so the '68 L-79 it came off of had the wrong intake manifold and carburetor.
