Okay, today's mystery is how the car listed in ebay #111454965405 actually gets the exhaust from the engine to the rear outlets. It appears to have some sort of unique side exhaust hidden under standard rocker moldings....This of course, goes well with the lack of side exits, instead favoring the use of standard exhaust outlets in the rear.... What the....

It would be a kool set-up on a resto mad. Just can't see it on that particular car, since the rest of it seems to have the a factory looking appearance.
Yes interesting....So it must hug the side of the frame them come out next to the wheels. Maybe a Sweet Thunder side exhaust system, but a custom adaptation.
I don't see a 63 parking brake assembly in the underbody shot.
And side pipes won't hide behind any kind of normal rocker molding.
I think they inserted the underbody shot from a different car.

It probably sounds better than undercar off road exhaust system, or a set of smitty's at the back. I still have a pair of cherry bombs that I bought on a whim back in the 70's, but I could never get myself to put them on. Instead, I have a nice set of welded 2-1/2" aluminized steel that have held up long enough to get me into my twilight years where I can't stand the noise. Very few systems with mufflers at the rear sound good.
Don, this pic shows it too....I think it's a custom welded setup. The sill brackets(for the rocker panels) would have to be cut for those pipes to fit up in there, and the rocker panels could ultimately cover them......I think.

Seems to be a problem with the FI air cleaner and the air cleaner adapter on the FI unit. Notice the later style hose is really out of alignment. Nice car though.
Don,
I am with you. We all know better than to think it can be done the way it looks, but we all know, as you said, it had to be at different times.
I hate to admit I walked out to my 63 in the garage and double checked to make sure I missed something really obvious about my car.
But it did have me guessing for a bit there...............

And this one shows no pipes through the normal path.

Richard, you top pic has what looks like a small oil pan with steering stabilizer and 64-67 metal splash shields.????? Bob J
Bob, the parking brake cable is not 63 and those don't look like the same tires either. Those chassis pics are clearly not this vehicle. Could be a mistake on the seller's part, but certainly makes me wonder why the seller would need to substitute chassis pictures from another car...
Otherwise, it seems to be a nice car, with all kinds of documentation, more than I've ever seen survive on one car. Maybe John H. can comment on the documentation.

Don,
Certainly confusing, The photo filenames are all in sequence so I think it's the same car. But maybe separated by time if they changed the exhaust back to under-car after those photos were taken.

Hmmm, Good eye Bob.....It shouldn't have a stabilizer on a fuelie as it should have the 6qt trap door long pan, right?
Oh, BTW......did you guys also notice the air-shock valve Tee and tubing under the pass side storage bin?. And yes it certainly doesn't have a stock '63 park Brake setup along the drivers side. Looks like '64-'66 IIRC.
I'm spending way too much time on all this stuff and need to get back to work, but I'm too curious and anal to let it go, so I just sent the Seller a question-email about all this plumbing so we can put it to rest.
That's tricky wording.... with substituted photos and admittedly "produced" documentation, I don't think you could GIVE me the car...
