53-55 Tail Lamp Mounting Area - Body
I have a 54 where the tail lamp mounting area appears to have been modified. I believe it should be entirely round (circular) to match the shape of the tail lamp assembly. It's almost as if somebody was molding in the fins and didn't finish sanding away enough putty.I've checked numerous books, images and websites but cant find direct rear to forward views to answer my questions. I've attached 3 photos with red arrows pointing to the areas of concern. I'm looking for photos from judged cars that will confirm how the area should look. Thanks in advance for your time and efforts. Eric

Mine are similar
