My understanding is that it would be a combination of both new webbing (belts) and restoration of existing hardware.
Leastwise, that is what I intend to do with my 63. My buckles can easily be saved, as well as the attachment hardware. The webbing, well, I suppose it could be improved by removing all the frays and then re-dyed, but I have my doubts.
There are several different sources to check for seatbelts, and all of them advertise in the DRIVELINE. Check with Charlie Santorelli of SeatBelt Sity, as he usually has webbing available and will restore your hardware; also check America's Finest Corvettes they provide a similar service
Are there reproduction seat belts available that do not loose points or do you need to get used ones and have them restored?
If they can be restored, where is the best place to get them done?
Richard, Do you need everything or just the webbing. I obtained the webbing from America's Finest Corvettes then sent that webbing and my buckles to Charlie. Excellent results. Do not loose sight that this is expensive. Depending on the color the repro webbing is about $130.00 and Charlies part is probably a few hundred. More if he is plating, chroming and adding labels. It is best to see him at Carlisle or call and speak with him. As a warning DO NOT call him outside his advertised hours that is in the Driveline. Charlie is a great guy but does love his privacy.
