    Found this on the intake

Found this sitting on the intake, did it come from here on the carb? Look at the photos.

If it did, how do I put it back? The car seemed to be running rough and missing at 4k rpm when accelerating hard. Could this have been messing up my mixture?

    thanks

    Jeff

Jeff, It appears to be a block off plug, maybe somewhere there is a vacuum leak, this will cause the car to idle rough. I am not sure of the position, maybe if you start the car you'll hear a hissing noise, if so find the source and put your finger over it and you'll feel a slight vacuum. then you found the source of the leak. In your second pic there appears what looks like a open port above the small black hose on the right??

That open port on the carb is just to the right of the PVC hose. I'm thinking that's where it came from. Oh, now I see the spot you're talking about. I think that is a screw hole.

Looks like that is where it is from. If you feel vaccum there and decide that is where its from, I would use some epoxy when putting it back in to insure there is not an ongoing leak created.

Alan, yup, that's it. Seemed strange that I didn't have an idle issue. Now I have to work on my timing. I think it's getting too much advance. I backed my initial down and it does not run as rough as before at higher revs.
