    C2 Power Antenna Replacement Procedure

    Hello;

    I recently purchased a restored (original) power antenna unit for my 65' with under-car exhaust'. Vehicle currently has a reproduction unit with a 9 inch mast, to remove. Can this removal & installation procedure be done without removing the rear valence panel & muffler ? Garage is equipped with a four post drive on ramp lift. Thank you.

    The muffler is going to have to come off. The rear valance can stay in place.

      I've had mine out many times. I remove the rear valance and disconnect the muffler from the hangar. I can push the muffler out of the way and remove/install the antenna ..... No problem

      I should also say that the exhaust tip needs to be removed.....

          If you have a repro in the car now it probably has an 1/8 inch antenna cable pin. The original will have a .085 pin. You will probably have to manually crimp the antenna cable sleeve to get a good connection. The 1/8 pins tend to stretch out the mating connector.

            Thanks guys; I think I'm going to leave this project for next season. Going to drive the car before the bad weather sets in; this fall.

              Good info on the procedure. I don't remember loosening the exhaust panel but it has been a very long time since I removed one.
