Strange Trim Tag. What am I missing?

What am I missing? 980AA is Trophy Blue. 450AC should be Blue & White vinyl. That combination was not 'available' in '66. The AC ECL code is a mystery to me also as that code shows in Adams book as a Coupe ECL used with M35 in Table 2. The car is a roadster. ECL AC shows in Table 2 but Trim Code 450 reads "See Table 1"

    VIN is 19467S112524

Of course to compound the confusion, the car is described for sale as Nassau Blue

there seem to be a couple errors in play here. The body build date for StL body car E28 is Jan 28, 66 and would use Sched 2B in the 1966 ECL per Authenication Library V1. As you say the AC ECL is desginated as a Coupe ECL so I believe the Trim plate was stamped in error as AC, and likely should have been BC, DC, HC or KC. By analyzing the included or excluded options present on the car you could pinpoint which one. In the VIN you gave, you have left out the 6 before the S. The Black Book does not show White/Blue Vinyl as a Trim option for Trophy Blue, however, what is given in the BB is just "suggested". Other Trim options could be selected. Of course if the car is now Nassau blue, or some version of it, then it is a color change from the Trim tag.

It should have been BC as the only option is M35. Thanks for the clarification.

I'm trying to picture a Trophy Blue with white interior.

there is no accounting for taste. All the ECLs I listed included M35 powerglide, DC, HC and KC included Headrests or Headrests and Shldr Belts.

Jim, there were overrides for color combos. A few guys returning from SEA ordered blue/red interior/white top cars. I saw two.
