    65 Radio Repair Vendor Needed

My '65 radio crackles badly when turning the volume knob. Does anyone have a good radio repair reference. I was going to use Jerry Rudnick but he is semi retired and back logged on work. I already tried tuner cleaner with minimal results.

    Larry:
Did you get access to the inside of the radio? Usually, static or crackling with the volume control is a sign of dust or dirt on the component that varies the volume as the knob is turned. Try the cleaner again on that.

Jerry is worth the wait, no matter how long it is. I would not let anyone else touch my radio, from (not good) experience

Larry what you explain is dust on the contacts in the volume knob. Jerry Rudbeck can fix you right up. ElectroDesign is the name of his bussiness. Jerry tuned my 1968 radio, the radio was out of my car for only 21 days and works and sounds great.

I second Tim's recommendation to wait it out for Jerry. You won't get a better working radio and couldn't find a nicer guy to work with. Jerry rebuilt my '64 Corvette radio last year and it works better than I can ever remember.

Jerry is the best and worth the wait. I would give him a call and get it scheduled if you aren't in a hurry. Good Luck!

Thanks everyone! Several shot of tuner cleaner did the trick.
