I'm at a place where I cannot access my judging manual or assembly manual so I don't know if the answer is in there or not. What I am looking for is, was the Firestone white stripe tire option for 1971 model year Corvettes a "Wide Oval" tire or did the "Wide Oval" series of tires end before the '71 model year?Randy C.

The white letter was an option that Firestone was one of the suppliers. It was also available for 1972.

"Wide Oval" was the term used for 1968-72 Corvette FIRESTONE tires. However, the "Wide Oval" reproduction tires available today are NOT reproductions of the nylon cord tires used on Corvettes. They are reproductions of the fiberglass belted "Wide Oval" tires used on certain other "muscle cars" of the period.
