Quick question, what if any bolt head identifying marks are on the 2 tach housing to generator bolts. I don't see any mention in the manual. I was thinking TR, U, or WB are some of the standard period ones but I have seen the reproductions are being sold plain with no head markings. Can someone tell me what is correct ?? Thanks, Dan

I took photos of every C1 tach drive unit at the Nationals last week. My interest was studying the manufacturer's marks on the housing. But the photos also show the bolts you speak of. Plain head per the attached photo.Attached Files- Top

I've done a few tach drive generators in my days, and every one I've ever done are plain unmarked heads on those bolts. Pics below show the 2 original bolts found during this rebuild(below the big nut). Others are TR for mounting to the manifold. (Note the commutator and drive end frames are not Corvette.....but the pulley is

Troy, what do the manufacturers marks mean?? I have looked at a few since you mentioned this and one had an "L" plain and one had one with a border around it like your picture. They both however had a number "6" under that. I'd be interested to hear how that translates.- Top

I took lots of photos to try and figure that our and correlate with the year. Haven't sorted through those photos yet though. One thing I noticed is the L with a border around it seems to be later than 1955, which is the year I'm most interested in.- Top
