Ross, is there suppose to be a stud in the lower mounting at the water pump instead of a bolt. It appears your air pump is close to the plastic vacuum sensor. So it would appear stud first, spacer, bracket, locking nut? the stud would give you about 3/16 to 1/4 more spacing.

Ed,
The assembly manual does not show a stud on the passenger side of the of the water pump.
Plus the way it fastens to the intake wouldnt allow much movement
Ross, It appears like the front is doing a nose dive? is the vacuum switch against the pump? Maybe another pic. of the opposite side with lower bracket will help.

Ed,
I will get more photos. you're right though. It does seem to tip forward and sideways. I don't get it, it I all the same stuff I took off.
It is hitting the vacuum switch.
Great pics. That is exactly how mine is mounted as I have C 60 brackets.
There isnt much clearance with the vacuum switch.
I bought belts from quanta. But all of them seem too short.
Do you have the part numbers on your bracket and pulley? Are the number out or towards the pump?
Ross, If you have a auto parts store near by have them look up the part numbers for you. just to see how close the lengths are to Quanta's belts. The part numbers like Gates uses are the length and width. (such as part no 7545 - 7= 3/8 width, 545 = 54.5 Inchs). Some time GM part numbered belts can be a odd length so they will sometimes use belt that are 54.25 and the after market will use a 54.5 so if you have a AIM bring the part numbers to store with you they can also cross ref. them.
