    66 front hubs

    Hi were the front hubs on a 66 natural or painted from the factory? Thanks in advance sincerely Brian

    Natural, but as a forged steel piece, it usually looks black on the outside due to oxides forming during cooling and the effect of various machining fliuds used to process the piece into a completed unit.

        Keep in mind the hub was mounted to the rotor then the rotor was machined or surfaced as an assembly. So if the rotor was removed from the hub with out indexing then there good chance you will see out of specs run out on the rotor surface. This can lead to front caliper issues and a wobbly break pedal down the road. I used Gary Ramadei's method of using shim stock to correct the run out. In my case the rotor were too far gone and had to be replaced.
