Have any of you taken apart your wonder bar radio to fix the search function, as mine has stop working? I can hear a static click when button is pressed. and was moving normally. Maybe some sort of contact needs cleaning?

Re: 63 Wonder bar search function
Edward, I fixed the scan on my '59 about 20 years ago. Yup, it was a dirty contact on the internal switch.
I's imagine '63 has a similar contactor, not sure. But if all else fails give member Jerry Rudbeck a jingle.

Re: 63 Wonder bar search function
Edward -- if you can get your hands on a 1963 Chevrolet Radio Service & Shop manual, it has 13 pages on the Corvette Wonderbar AM radio, model No. 985396, and in particular, the following sections on the signal-seek function:
Mechanical operation of electrical tuner (overview); Theory of operation; Mechanical operation; Gear train operation; Relay arm; Solenoid; clutch, etc. Also, service procedure of all parts, including (R & R relay, relay gear train, solenoid switch, solenoid, .... Service parts list).- Top

Re: 63 Wonder bar search function
I have an early 63 that came with the AM radio as FM was not offered early in the model year. When I lived in San Diego all I could get was stations from Mexico so I replaced it with a later AM/FM. No wonderbar on that one. I have my original radio packed away. I don't recall it having a wonderbar but I haven't seen it n many years. Is the AM radio signal seeking?- Top
