I have a dated 57 fuel filter housing with the square boss for the fuel lines and the fuel filter can that has two clips to hold the filter. Looks just like the one in Nolands book page 176 even has the same date and hash marks. I have seen some other filters with the round boss and Is there any difference between 57-58 What would be the correct use for this filter. Thanks Phil 8063

Hi loren if you have Nolands book on page 176 lower left photo of the bottom of the housing at 11:00 you see 57 with a bunch of hash lines around it. Phil 8063- Top

Re: 57 58 Fuel injection fuel filter
Phil,
The round boss was the earlier version and the square boss started mid production 1957.
Info's in the 56-7 JM.

Re: 57 58 Fuel injection fuel filter
I stand corrected - guess I'd never looked at the bottom of the lids closely. Now, the two lids have a variation - can that be explained? "A" has a "57" in the circle; the circle has seven "hash" marks in it (month?) and outside the circle but in the near area, an embossed/debossed number "7" is found; "B" has the "57" in the circle, EIGHT "hash" marks and the number "2" in the near area. Interpretations are WELCOMED.- Top

Re: 57 58 Fuel injection fuel filter
Loren,
Are the inlet/outlet bosses square for both A & B fuel filter lids?
